Teachers' Pack information and downloads

We have developed a Teachers' Pack to help educators make the most of the Digital Edition of The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank.  The Pack is freely available for download from this page.  We have also produced a separate introductory guide to the app's features.  The Teachers' Pack has been designed to assist you in using the Digital Edition within the clasroom, and therefore to obtain maximum benefit you will need at least one copy of the Digital Edition running on an iPad or a NOOK HD or NOOK HD+.  The App Store badges at the top of this page will direct you to the stores for both iPad and NOOK.  The Introductory Guide has more information.

About the Teachers' Pack

The text of the pack has been developed by Irene Wise, Senior Lecturer in Media and Culture at Roehampton University, and Aviva Dautch, Creative Educator at the British Library.   The pack includes a range of cross-curricular activities applicable to subject areas such as History, English Literature, English Language and RE and opens up moral and ethical questions applicable to the Citizenship curriculum.

The activities are gradated into three levels: Introductory, Intermediate and Advanced. These are roughly equivalent to Key Stages 2-3, 3-4 and 4-5 as described within the pack, although there are many opportunities for differentiation.

About the Digital Edition

The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank, Digital Edition, is the result of a collaboration between Penguin Books, Beyond The Story Limited, and The Anne Frank Fonds - Basel.  It is an immersive app for iPad 2 (and higher) and NOOK HD & HD+.  It contains a full copy of the Definitive Edition of the Diary plus a wealth of additional material (such as videos, maps, and a 3D model of the Secret Annexe) carefully integrated in to the text.
